Come and say 'see you soon' to the Citizens Theatre building at 119 Gorbals Street
The Citizens Theatre is preparing to temporarily move out of their home in the Gorbals to enable a major redevelopment of the theatre to take place. Join them from 10am – 5pm on Saturday 23 June to say ‘see you soon’ to the building, which will be closed for two years.
At 10am the Citizens Theatre Learning team will be leading a walk to Scotland Street School Museum, where the Citizens’ drama classes and community projects will take place during the redevelopment.
Meanwhile at the Citizens Theatre there will be lots of events, including behind-the-scenes backstage tours, a sale of memorabilia and theatrical items, a look at plans for the new building and the chance to share your memories of the Citz. Visitors can also expect a few theatrical surprises along the way!
While the Citizens Theatre is closed you will still be able to use your Gorbals Card to buy £2 for Citizens’ shows, which will take place at Tramway. (Christmas shows are priced at £5 a ticket.)
