Would you like to learn new skills and help your community?
The Rose Garden Orchard relies on local residents to look after the trees. Their work means that everyone in the community can enjoy a good crop of fresh, free fruit.
If you would like to learn new skills, meet your neighbours, or enjoy being out in the fresh air, please come along to help out. You don't need to have any experience, and tools, gloves, lunch and refreshments will be provided for you. Check the dates below to see when you can join in:
Wednesday 17th February - Fruit Care day.
This session runs 10.30am - 2.30pm. Help tidy up the brambles and prune soft fruit bushes, so we'll have lots of raspberries, blackberries and currants to enjoy.
Wednesday 16th March - Restorative Pruning Workshop.
Session runs 10.30am - 2.30pm. Learn how to prune the apple trees so they'll be healthy and productive with Lewis from The Urban Orchard Project.
Wednesday 11th May - Blossom Day.
Session runs 1pm - 6pm. Help to feed and mulch the trees for the year ahead. From 4pm, join in with the celebration of the beautiful spring blossom with a picnic in the orchard and free family activities.
