Gorbals Ideas Fund is a new and exciting project that aims to give local people a chance to drive positive change.
Covering the Gorbals, Hutchesontown, Oatlands and Laurieston areas, the Gorbals Ideas Fund will build on the great work of Spirit of the Gorbals, which comes to an end on 31 March 2018.
To help the Gorbals Ideas Fund grow, develop and really meet the needs of local people we’re inviting local people to volunteer with us and form a new Community Panel.
The Panel will work together to represent the community, working with local people & groups to identify challenges and issues that have an impact on lives and helping them develop ideas and solutions that could overcome these challenges. The Panel will also design, develop and deliver events and activity that give local people a greater say in how local funds are used through budgeting events.
You don’t need any particular skills to become part of the panel as full training will be provided, but it would be great if you shared our values and attitudes – understanding and respect, commitment, curiosity and passion.
In addition to high quality training, we’ll provide ongoing support and development opportunities, all out of pocket expenses and an opportunity to make a real different to your community.
If you’re interested in volunteering as part of the Panel why not pop in to one of our drop-in sessions for a chat:
