Partnership working brings Christmas cheer to local households.
New Gorbals Housing Association were delighted to work with partners this year to bring Christmas to families in the Gorbals.
Staff members at the Association have been busy raising money throughout December to contribute to our holiday fund for locals people over the festive break. Through staff lunches and raffles, donations, and the money raised at the Christmas Fair, our colleagues and our community managed to raise over £1100 to help those in need.
In addition to the money raised, we also received donations of gifts and vouchers from Glasgow Care Foundation, as well as donations towards vouchers and food parcels from the Co-op on Crown Street. Extra money from the Community Capacity and Resilience Fund helped us to purchase the remaining food hampers.
Through this initiative, we have helped a total of 47 households in the area, including gifts for 45 children. All gifts, supermarket vouchers, and food parcels have now been delivered in time for Christmas.
Thank you to our local partners, our staff members and our community who all had a hand in making this possible this year.
