As part of our effort to address the Cost of Living Crisis, the Association will host a number energy information events for tenants throughout March.
Working together with HEAT and local partners, NGHA aims to give people information and support with their energy bills and usage. Plus, thanks to £20,000 funding from the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations’ Fuel Support Fund, NGHA is also able to offer a £40 fuel top-up to 500 vulnerable Gorbals households.
There will be three events across the Gorbals in March dedicated to providing tenants with the £40 fuel vouchers. They will take place at the following dates and locations:
Thursday 7th March in the NGHA office, 200 Crown Street, from 10am to 2pm.
Friday 15th March at Crossroads Youth and Community Association (The Barn), 37 Abbotsford Place, from 11am-2.30pm. The Barn’s usual Toastie Fridays event will run as normal so tenants can enjoy some lunch when they attend for a fuel voucher.
Thursday 21st March at TASK Childcare, 347 Caledonia Road, from 9am-11am and again from 1.30pm – 3.30pm.
For those who are unable to attend during the day, we are also hosting an evening surgery event at our office on Wednesday 20th March between 5.30 and 7.30pm. Housing Officers and our Welfare Rights team will be there, along with our HEAT advisor and Money Advice service.
The events are all drop-in sessions with no need to book in advance and are open to all New Gorbals Housing Association tenants.
