The Department for Work and Pensions is beginning to roll out Universal Credit to those who are currently receiving certain benefits.
These are known as ‘legacy benefits’ and if you’re currently in receipt of one or more of these, you will be invited to claim Universal Credit instead.
The ‘legacy benefits' in question are:
- Income Support
- Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance
- Income-based Jobseeekers Allowance
- Working Tax Credit
- Child Tax Credit
- Housing Benefit
