Caledonia Road Demolition
Update 30th June 2025
Following yesterday’s successful demolition, there is now a three lane closure in place on Caledonia Road with a traffic light system in operation. This will remain in place until tomorrow (Tuesday 1st July) as our contractors work to clear the rubble. Following this, a single lane closure will be in place until the end of July.
Our contractors are also working hard to clear up the streets affected by the demolition. They are working their way through this on a street by street basis. Please bear with us as this may take up to a week to reach every street.
We would like to reassure everyone that rigorous procedures were followed to ensure that no asbestos was present in the buildings before the demolition.
If you have any issues or your property has been affected by the demolition, please contact us.
Update 14:00
Today’s demolition is now complete and the exclusion zone has been lifted. All roads are now reopening, and you may return to your home. Bus services within the exclusion zone will now begin to return to normal service. Thank you for your patience and co-operation.
08:00
The exclusion zone is now in place ahead of the scheduled demolition of 305 and 341 Caledonia Road today.
There is no specific time for the blow-down.
Please be aware that there may be some dust blown through the air during and immediately after the demolition. We strongly recommend that you avoid the area.
Measures are being put in place to minimise the spread of dust from the collapsing buildings. However, depending on weather conditions on the day, there is a possibility that dust may be blown towards your home or property. Please follow this advice.
