Second Award Nomination for Pine Place
We are pleased to announce that our Pine Place development has been shortlisted for a prestigious design award.
Pine Place has been shortlisted as one of three new developments across Scotland in the Residential – Multi Unit category at the 2026 Scottish Design Awards.
The development, which was completed in summer 2025, is made up of 10 large, terraced family homes and 18 flats, including 2 accessible flats at ground level.
Designed by Reiach and Hall Architects and built by CCG (Scotland), all homes in this development meet Housing for Varying Needs (Part 1) and The Glasgow Standard, achieving Building Regulation Section 7, Gold for aspect 1 and Silver for aspects 2–8.
The design reflects the existing townscape, with the flatted block to the north and taller townhouses to the south creating visual markers. These elements enhance the street’s identity and integrate with the existing properties.
The site was purchased from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, with homes built where Gorbals Health Centre once stood. Sustainability was a key focus with this development, using timber framing to reduce embodied carbon, and air source heat pumps in every home to help lower emissions and energy bills for tenants.
The Scottish Design Awards ceremony takes place on Wednesday 24th June 2026, celebrating the best in talent, innovation and beautiful design. This year marks the 30th year of the awards with over 30 categories in included in the ceremony.
New Gorbals Housing Association was previously awarded the Architecture: Affordable Housing Gold award for the North Gate development at the 2023 Scottish Design Awards.
