Spring Clean Campaign 2026

Description:

As a litter pick hub, we were keen to join in Keep Scotland Beautiful’s Spring Clean Campaign and Big Clyde Clean Up, running between March 14^th to April 24^th.

We hosted weekly litter picks over 7 weeks, supported at every one of them by the fabulous Adelphi Nursery children and staff, our littlest litter pickers, who turned out come rain or shine.

Our regular team of tenant and resident volunteers also turned out in numbers. During the Easter school holidays we were joined by our Ukrainian tenants and children down at Riverside as part of the Big Clyde Clean Up, where we had 19 litter pickers out doing their bit to help keep Gorbals clean.

We covered the whole of the Gorbals, with meeting points at Oatlands Community Hub, The Gorbals Community Pantry at Riverside, The Citizens Theatre, Crossroads at the Barn, St Francis Community Centre and New Gorbals Housing Office at 200 Crown Street.

Thanks to the squad we collected over 50 bags of rubbish to keep Gorbals clean.

Our litter picks will now go back to being held once per month, usually on the first Friday of the month at 10.30am. Picks last for around an hour and are always followed by lunch and chat back at the Association office. All welcome.
