Our 2026/27 Rent Proposal

New Gorbals Housing Association is proposing a 4.8% rent and service charge increase for 2026/27. This figure is based on the September 2025 Consumer Price Index (CPI) which was 3.8%, plus 1%.

We have written to all tenants explaining the proposal and how it would affect them individually, and have included a survey to provide feedback. Letters were sent by post and by email, depending on contact preference. We will also send out a text reminder to tenants during the course of the consultation.

Tenants can find out more information on the proposal and what it means in our Your Rent publication. There will also be opportunity to meet with representatives from the Association at one of our Rent Workshops at the following events and meetings:

Big Gorbals Dinner Community Meal
Tuesday 25th November, 5.30pm-7pm, St Francis Hall

Online Tenant Meeting
Tuesday 2nd December, 6pm-7pm, via Teams (email susan@newgorbalsha.org.uk for the link to join)

Riverside Tenants Meeting
Friday 5th December, 1pm-2.30pm, Way to Go Cafe, 39 Waddell Court

Oatlands Tenants Meeting
Thursday 11th December, 1pm-2.30pm, Oatlands Community Hub

Hutchestontown Tenants Meeting
Thursday 18th December, 6pm-7.30pm, St Francis Centre

 

Tenants are invited to return their feedback by post or online before the consultation closes on Friday 19th December 2025.

Following this, the New Gorbals Housing Association Management Committee will review all feedback and make a decision on 2026/27 rents at their February 2026 meeting.
